Hard Rock Hotel

The third Hard Rock Hotel in Asia, after the one in Bali & Pattaya.... is in Penang! I've never been to either hotels, but I've been to Hard Rock Hotel, Orlando last year. Fantastic place!

I called up the hotel, and they inform me that it will open around June or July '09, no exact date yet, but the online reservation system would be up around mid April.
The next time I drive up to Penang, Hard Rock it is :)

!!

I am having a horrible day.

I left my painkillers at home, and yes... it's that time of the month, and my cramps are pretty bad most of the time, but thank God, it's tolerable this time round.

My AC adapter for my laptop at home got busted last Saturday. I planned to settle my visa application last weekend, so that didn't happen. And as I was trying to do it just a while ago, right here in my office, there was the pop-up screen regarding the security certificate, and when I clicked - my company blocked and denied access! What the hell? I just don't get our stupid IT policies!

And then there's my senior manager, who thinks I spend my 5 day week in the office only to attend to his tasks. He barged into my room this morning, with no introduction whatsoever, and asked "I check the changes made by IT on our portal just now, why is it like that?" I don't check the portal every 5 minutes on every new change that they've made okayyyy..

I have lots of other pending stuff to do and the portal's aesthetics is the least of my concern for now!

And now I'm in no mood to talk to anyone, and every little thing just pisses me.

I need a happy pill!

5 Days to April

I need to refrain myself from the temptation to shop!!

I've settled my credit card outstanding amount last night, and I said to myself "Oh myyyyy.. I spend 5 times more than the month before." That doesn't include my purchases in cash and my other credit cards (but I'm pretty sure it's not much, as I seldom use the others. I only keep them for emergency cases!).

So in the coming month of April, I promise myself that I will spend wisely. I talked to Mr. H last night, and he gave me a pep talk on saving and not overspending unnecessarily. I know, I know..
I think I've gotten most of the stuff I need (not my wants, mind you :p).

I've replenished my body pampering stuff at Body Shop, enough makeup supplies to last me for another 2 months at least (my Bobbi Brown compact foundation cepat habis!), I've still got my facial products from the doc, I've already gotten a new quilt cover set, a Bohemia crystal vase as a gift for a wedding next month, and 3 pairs of shoes that I've not even worn yet!
I shall spend my April working on my list on where to go, what to do & what to shop in Melbourne & Cairns :)

I so need this vacay.. 20th April 2009 please come quick!

Coming Real Soon

I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts.... and yes it's opening in Malaysia! Heard the first one is opening in Berjaya Times Square sometime in mid April. Right beside Papa John's.

Since these yummy doughnuts will reach our shores for the first time, I bet the queue will be longgggg. Apparently the only ones in South East Asia are in Jakarta & now in KL, Malaysia. Looks like J.Co and Big Apple are gonna have another competitor in town.

Can't wait to grab the glazed doughnuts!

Shu U.

I've finally gotten myself false eyelashes at Shu Uemura! My attempt to have long beautiful lashes, the easy way. (I hope!) I have long lashes but it's not nice and curly like some lucky people do, but with alot of mascara, I've gotten compliments (haha, perasan sekejap :p)

Anyway, I intend to wear these to weddings or parties even, just to have that different look. I was told by the SA that you can actually use it up to 15 times. So I guess I can use these for quite some time.

My first pair is the 'Slant Black'. This is the one I plan to wear to the wedding reception I'm going to attend next month. I'm planning to get ready an hour early, just in case I have trouble putting these on :p

And this pair is 'Luxe Black' - one of the hot selling ones. It was actually sold out, and I told the SA that I would like to put in a deposit or something, so that I can purchase this once the stock arrived. Then she said, if I could wait, she'd open the new shipment boxes to see if they had this particular one. And lucky me, she found the pair, after rummaging through about 3 boxes of falsies. Thank you Emily :)

Although my intention when I stepped into Shu Uemura was ONLY to get false eyelashes, I end up buying the glue (well, this one I need, so takpe), eye curlers, and the skin purifier - their famous cleansing oil. With the extras, I am now a Shu Uemura member. hehe

Now that I'm a member, I'm entitled to:
1. 2 eye brow trimmings
2. 2 lash atelier workshops
3. and 2 makeovers

all for FREE!!

Yeay! That's the happy part. The other not so happy thing is that I'm thinking about returning the cleansing oil and get a mascara and something else, a concealer maybe.

I was just thinking that I might not use this product, since I'm using products recommended by my skin doc. It did feel nice on my hands when they did the demo on me, plus it is one of their best products, but I'm just scared that it might have a reaction to my skin. I did think about it earlier just now, but don't know what got into me.. pergi beli jugak :p

Anyone has tried this product?

50 X or More

I had a 2 1/2 hour meeting just now to finalize a few mitigation plans for risks owned by my SVP.
And there was Mr. T, one of those we called to join in to gather some of his inputs on this matter... and during the meeting, I noticed something about him.

In almost every sentence that comes out from his mouth, he would slit in the word 'actually'!

"Actually.. this.. bla.. bla.."
"It's not like that, but actually... bla.. bla.."
"I think actually it needs... bla bla.."

Aahhhh! After the first hour I got tired of his actuallys!

I think if I were to count each and every one, I would say he mentioned 'actually' about 50 plus times!
I hope I won't have to attend another meeting with Mr. Actually. But I'm afraid that I will have to in the follow-up meeting. I think it's scheduled next month.
Isk!

A Very Tempting Toy

I received a few texts from Maxis on my mobile on their latest offer on the IPhone3G. Finally, it's in the country. A few colleagues of mine purchased these little toys at RM2800 at the Apple Centres but now we can get for a fraction of the price with the Maxis IPhone 3G Plan!

Tempting.

My average monthly bill is about RM250 a month, so I would qualify for 3 out of 4 plans Maxis is offering. And for the 8G phone, I can get it for as low as RM1490 with a monthly commitment of RM250, which is about how much I pay every month anyway.

Errrrrr... But my BB is not even a year old.

And I love the Qwerty keyboard compared to a touch-screen menu. Plus, if I were to get the IPhone, I would have to be extra careful with it since its a lil more fragile than a BB Curve. I remembered when I dropped my BB without its holster one night, on a cemented pavement. Ouch!
The screen was scratched and I was upset about it for a couple of days. I can't imagine how it'd be with an IPhone. I think I would need double, triple protection for it to avoid anything like that happening.

(Here I am convincing myself that I don't need a new phone :p)

Maxis website

Anyway for those who purchased this phone from Maxis, lucky you!

Because for now, me & my BB are quite happy :)

9 Things I Wanna Do Before I Hit 40!

I've got more than 10 years to do all these :)

1. Vegas!
This one I'm hoping to do soon, maybe next year hopefully, before my bestie finally decides to return home. New year's in Vegas was the plan, but we'll see if that materializes hehe
If she doesn't come home soon, I'll have another year or two to still make this happen ;)

2. Zorbing
Zorbing or sometimes called sphereing is something I've got to try. This is very popular in New Zealand. It is basically an activity where humans roll downhill in a sphere, generally made of transparent plastic (so you can watch the world go round, literally).
My sister has tried this before and she said it's really awesome.

3. More theme parks!
I love going on rides, especially the really crazy ones. And I think I can still do this for a few more years. hehe

4. Paragliding
I don't know where it's best to do this, but I sure would want to try this someday!
I've been on Soarin', which replicated a hang glider ride - voted to be the #1 ride in Epcot, Disney World. It's fun to see the the world from a higher ground and I'm sure the real thing would be simply breathtaking.
Whether I would actually have the guts to jump off the aircraft is another thing, but let's just say I can for now :p

5. Hot air Balloon Ride
Ok, so this one's less scary compared to para gliding. hehe
Anything that starts from the ground up is fine. Don't u think?

6. Great Barrier Reef
Yes! I'm going here in a month's time. Yeayyy! The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland in Northern Australia.
I can't wait!!

7. Cancun
Cancun has been in my list for about 2 years now. It's in Quintana Roo, Mexico's easternmost state. Cancun is located in one of the main Carrribean hurricane impact areas though :( It has only received 2 direct hits so far, Gilbert (1988) and Wilma (2005) but the authorities were well prepared to deal with most of the effects.
So it's still in my list!

8. Skiing in the Alps
I've gone skiing twice in my life. Once in Ottawa, Canada and the other time in France.
I think it's time for a third. In the Alps maybe?

9. A family with 3 kids
Although I'm not married yet, hopefully when the time comes I would want to have 3 precious ones. Reason being, there's just enough space for 3 in the backseat of a car :)

What about you?

A pair of Garcia's

Priscilla in black

Priscilla in nude

I like these by Pedro Garcia. My pick would be the one in nude. To me it's sexy yet sophisticated.

But it's not like I would spend 380 pounds on a pair of shoes, so for the time being, I'll just look at these pics and drool!

Bebe is having a SALE.
It will be on until 5 April!

Thinking about checking it out this weekend.

Have a good weekend peeps!

Small Bits of Philly

Cheesesteak.
A Philly cheesesteak.

Goodness. I've been thinking about this since a few days ago. As I was flipping through the channels on Astro that day, and there was a show about food & places, and there it was, the sinfully delicious, mouth watering cheesesteak.
Top it with onions, pickles, tomatoes and whatever else you like. Or just plain works just fine with me. It's the melted cheese that is so irresistable.. yummmm

Where on earth am I gonna get this super-duper yummy sandwich at this part of the world?

Subway's steak & cheese is the closest that I can get here... but microwaveables can never be as fresh and good as the ones in Cheesesteak Town Philly. Take me to Philly!!

Malaysian Sands

I was just imagining how nice it would be if I was lying down on the warm white sandy beach, sipping a cocktail, watching the beautiful sunset. Pure relaxation without having to worry about anything at all...

BLISS!

If I were to choose where, these places would be my picks....

Nexus Resort, Karambunai

I've heard so much about this place. I sure would want to visit this place someday.. Beautiful long stretch of beaches and clear blue sea...

Nexus Resort, Karambunai

I've never heard of this place before, not until my friend told me that she thought of picking this place as her honeymoon spot one day. It's the only boutique hotel in Tioman... ranging from tree house suites to the ones by the sea. Take your pick and this place will take your breath away...

Japamala, Tioman

I've stayed here before and yes, you'll enjoy this place to the fullest. It does remind me of Hawaii in a way. We were greeted warmly and was given a lei each (ring of flowers around your neck).
Oh my.. I wanna go to Honolulu again too!

Pangkor Laut Resort

Four Seasons, Langkawi

I wanna go here too!! It's so beautiful and I heard that it's so luxurious here that you wouldn't want to leave the place!

Four Seasons, Langkawi

This next place is not in Malaysia, but its just a few hours away if you go by air...
Tucked in an island in the Phillipines... Simply breathtaking if you ask me.
I sooooo wanna go here....... and it's definitely in my list.

And it is Shangri-La Mactan Resort in Cebu!

Ben, Bibik & Marley

Back to work for all of us, after a 3 day weekend.

To have a 3 day weekend permanently sounds great, don't you think?

I know that some manufacturing companies have starting with this, the industry is having a really tough time during the economic slowdown.

If I were to think briefly, I think I would be quite happy if our working days were to be just four instead of five, but then again, if they would take those hours out of our pay:

8 hours x 4 (1 day per week) = 32 hours
For example if pay is $100 an hour - we would have to forgo = RM3200 a month for that extra day of rest.

Worth it? I'll pass. haha. And I wish I earned $100 bucks an hour. My shopping list would definitely grow much longer :p

Anyway, back to my weekend.

Igot a haircut at Kimarie SS2. Good price and good hairstylist. I've been asking Ben to do my hair for the last few times. Quite happy with his service.

I've also got a new bibik a.k.a maid, I couldn't call the previous one bibik since she was about my age.. (I miss Ina!) but this one is in her 40s, so bibik it is. Actually there was another maid I got the weekend before last, but my mom didn't like her and returned her to the agent. She couldn't iron or cook, and she was already asking my neighbour's maid about going out and whether there were construction workers nearby on her first day. (???) Guess my mom knew there was something fishy about her and decided not to take her. We got to know that she took off with the agent's handphone on the very same day! What a nuisance!

####

I managed to watch Marley & Me with my friends. I'd rate the movie 6 out of 10. Nothing special but very touching! sniff. sniff. Plus I absolutely loveee Jen's hair! Btw, I heard she spent 50,000 dollars on her hair during the Academy's -I flipped through Channel E last nite :p

A scene from Marley & Me

And......

I went for a hour workout at the gym in Lake Club yesterday... finally! I have been a member for 5 years, since I can no longer be going to the club under my parent's membership. My body is aching right now. Well, it has been what.. a year?
So twice a week it is.. or let's just start with once a week first..

March 8, 2009

My Ipanema!

It's super duper comfy and light, I would recommend everyone to get a pair.

And this is the one I chose.. Gold and white!

When u purchase any sandals from this collection, you'll also be helping to reforest the Atlantic Forest through the Florestas Do Futoro program sponsored by SOS Mata Atlantica Foundation.

Let's go GREEN!

And....

I bought two other pairs...

At Lewre...

And at Hush Puppies!

No more shoes for me this month.. NO MORE!

I got something from Gisele Bundchen's new Seeds collection today!

My very first Ipanema :)

Another addition to my footwear collection!

Redemption

Finally!!
I've redeemed 2 items from Bonuslink. Some of my points have expired over the last few months, but I forgot my pin and never really made it a point to call up the company to reset my pin.
And today, I finally did!

I grabbed a Kingston 4GB flash drive and a 1500W Philips Salonshine Ion hairdryer!
My hairdryer is spoilt and I have been air drying my hair for the last few weeks. My hair is quite long and thick too, so it takes ages to towel dry.. sometimes I go to work with my hair half wet (the inner sections), but I have straight hair, so it's not very obvious, I think :p

Philips Salon Ion

Kingston 4GB

My items should arrive in 2-4 weeks.

The Truths & Myths

Patrick Wanis, a human behavior expert and celebrity life coach has identified 10 major perceptions made by women about MEN.

And here are the answers from the expert......

1. Men are not interested in what women have to say – unless it’s about sport, food and sex
False – men do want to know what women have to say –they just are not good at knowing how to communicate with women

2. Men want somebody who is just like their mother
True –but they don’t know it…Although men want to be loved, nurtured and often spoiled, they are subconsciously attracted to women who are similar to their mom

3. Men only think about sex
False - Men do think a lot about sex (generally more than women) but men too, yearn for an emotional connection. When women evolve to place priorities on children and family, the man still wants regular sex

4. He’s spoiling me, so he must have plenty of cash to splash
True and False - Some guys will go into debt to initially impress and win a woman
5. If I sleep with him on the first date, he won’t respect me
True - Men are innately hunters and prize the rare catch. If the woman is too easy to win, he feels she is not so special – even though he may be the one pressuring her to sleep with him.

6. I can change him
False - Women fall in love with a man’s potential and plan to change him for the better and then become despondent when they realize they can’t change him.

7. Men are interested in a woman’s dating history
False –they prefer not to know. The male ego says “I am the first, the best and the only one able to please you!”

8. Men don’t like women who make the first move
True –if they want a long-term relationshipAn apparent contradiction – the male ego is initially stroked and flattered by a woman who makes the first move but he usually gets bored in the long-term because men like to be the hunter –not the hunted.

9. Men prefer “bitches”
False - Some men with low self-esteem choose women who are controlling. Men are, though, attracted to women who know their own mind and are clear about what they want.

10. Men prefer young women
True - Men prefer young women but not for the reasons women think: men are attracted to the women who are young in spirit, playful, take care of their bodies and looks, and still have a passion for life.

AFC

I'm watching Asian Food Channel while I'm writing this, so that explains the title. I'm just gonna spend my Sunday grocery shopping and just chilling at home. My uncle and my little cousins are coming over for tea a bit later, so a little family bonding would be quite fun.

Anyway, I finally watched Benjamin Button. It was a good drama but not something I would watch twice. Good thing I went for the 5 o'clock show, I don't think I'd survive the whole 2 1/2 hours if I watched the midnite show. Not much of a midnite movie person :p

Anyway, I got a pair of denim capris in Guess...
and I also got these!

Believe in Black Satin

Fabienne in Dark Brown Satin

I'm gonna grab something to eat now, watching AFC is making me tummy growllll..
